For what great nation has a god as near to them as the Lord our God is near to us whenever we call on him? Deuteronomy 4:7

Our church believes that God answers prayer.

You are encouraged to participate in any of these opportunities at any time. God hears all prayers whether audible or silent. The important thing is to pray together as God's word says, “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19

E-mail Prayer Requests
Church members receive prayer requests throughout the day via email. Each person prays individually. This is a widespread group and many prayers are said on behalf of each request.

Moms in Touch International
These groups consist of Moms who are in touch with God, their children, their schools, and one another through prayer. These groups meet weekly throughout the school year and have leaders who guide the prayer time using scripture to pray for students, teachers, staff, etc. Check the church's web site for the next meeting.

You are invited to become involved with any of these opportunities.

International Missions

National Day of Prayer
First Thursday in May
Purpose:
This annual lunch/prayer time is open to the Forsyth community. Those who attend are led in prayer to lift up specific areas of national concern such as the military, youth, schools and teachers, staff, etc.

The church has a Prayer Room - 203D (located in the back of the auditorium) for your personal prayer use. It is available during church worship/events and during church office hours.

Our church encourages prayer requests from guests and members. All requests are considered confidential and shared only in the prayer groups or as indicated.

Prayer request cards are located on the back of the chairs in the sanctuary and beside the prayer boxes. After completion, the cards can be placed in the offering plate or in a prayer box. Prayer boxes are located in the atrium and on each hallway of the main building. Prayer boxes are also in the Youth House and at KidsTown.

If you would like us to pray for you or for someone you know, you can email the church at
prayer@firstbaptistcumming.org. When submitting a request, please let us know if you would like to be contacted by the prayer team for follow-up of your prayer requests.

There will be prayer classes offered each semester of Discipleship classes. These are intended to encourage the basic spiritual discipline of prayer in a Christian's life and remind us of how important prayer is.

We want to encourage you to pray without ceasing. Prayer is a two-way conversation with God. He desires to hear from you and to tell you things.

If we can be of any help in encouraging your prayer life or if you need help finding a prayer partner, do not hesitate to call anyone on the Prayer Ministry Team. If you would like to become part of the Prayer Ministry Team, let us know. (See below)
