God’s Love Letter

God's Love Letter

The Bible, God’s Love Letter, says that without faith it’s impossible to please God. God’s Word also teaches that Jesus is the “author and finisher of our faith,” who “for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross.”

At first glance, the words joy and cross don’t seem compatible. Yet Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross for our sins becomes His greatest joy when we recognize and receive His selfless act of love.

The Bible teaches that’s there’s no greater expression of love than for a man to lay his life down for his friends. And that’s just what Jesus did for you by giving His sinless and innocent life on a cross to free you from the guilt and penalty of your sin.

God’s Word declares that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” and “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

You can experience God’s unconditional love by asking Him to forgive you of your sinful thoughts and actions. By believing in Jesus’ death, burial and victorious resurrection, you can trust in God for the forgiveness of your sins and His promise to live forever with Him in Heaven.

The following prayer is an example of how you can acknowledge or profess your trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord:

Dear Jesus, Thank You for giving your perfect life on a cross to pay the penalty for my sins. Forgive me of sinning against You by disobeying God’s commandments. Thank You for Your promises in the Bible that You died for my sins and rose from the grave to prepare a home for me in Heaven. Jesus, I give you control of my life. Thank You for being my Savior and Lord.
