During VBS, kids will focus on some amazing, real-life encounters with Jesus. Each encounter is like a snapshot—it’s a specific moment in time captured on the pages of Scripture. And when put together, these isolated encounters reveal the most amazing truth of all—Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing we can have life in His name.
An Invitation to the Congregation
We request your presence on Feb. 17th at 5:00pm at First Baptist Cumming, Auditorium 2, as we commission three new Stephen Ministers; Susan Carter, Evelynn Eller and Shelly Smith. We will also be commissioning Patrick Kennedy as our newest Stephen Leader.
These three ladies have been through 50 hours of specialized training in Christian caregiving and join our team at First Baptist Cumming. Stephen Ministers provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to people experiencing a crisis or going through a difficult time. Stephen Ministers meet weekly with their care receiver for around an hour to listen, care, encourage, pray, and provide emotional and spiritual support for the person. Caring relationships last for as long as the person’s need persists. Patrick is a Stephen Minister who has completed 50 hours of Leadership Training as well.
Please lift up our new Stephen Ministers and Leader in your prayers, asking that God bless their ministry and work through them to bring hope and healing to those they will serve. Pray also for the continued ministry of First Baptist Cumming’s other Stephen Ministers.
Our congregation is one of more than 12,000 worldwide, representing 160 Christian denominations, which use the Stephen Series system of lay caring ministry developed by Stephen Ministries in St. Louis.
